About our society...

W.L.H.S. meets monthly to share and develop our interest in the history of our town. Some of our members work on research projects, several having been completed as published books.

We invite guest speakers to our meetings and have been entertained by talks on Lord Collingwood, Earl Grey and Emperor Hadrian, as well as The History of Pickfords, and The Big River.

To coincide with Wallsend Festival or Heritage Open Days, we sometimes conduct a guided walk round the town.

We are sure there are many folk with memories to share and we are keen to welcome them to our meetings which take place on the second Monday of every month at St Luke's Church, Frank Street, Wallsend directly opposite to the Memorial Hall at 7:00p.m. (Disabled access available).

Before the talk, there is time to socialize and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee.

Please refer to our 'speakers list' tab above for 2019.

We look forward to seeing you there!
